Foodman (食品まつり a.k.a foodman) is an electronic musician from Nagoya, Japan. Drawing inspiration from Chicago footwork and rooted partly in his Okinawan heritage, Foodman has developed a distinctive sound that blends new age, ambient, and a wide range of musical styles.

Since the release of his debut album Shokuhin on New York label Orange Milk in 2012, he has continued to release music through various labels in Japan and abroad, including Mad Decent and Palto Flats. His international touring has included appearances at festivals and events such as Unsound and Low End Theory. He has also served as a resident on London-based radio station NTS Radio.

In July 2021, he released the album Yasuragi Land via the UK label Hyperdub. The album was selected as one of Pitchfork’s “Best Electronic Music of 2021” and was also featured in year-end best lists by domestic and international media including Music Magazine and ele-king. In November 2023, he released Uchigawa Tankentai, also through Hyperdub. In October 2025, he released the collaborative EP NAGOYA EP with Nikki Nair via Hyperdub. Foodman is now on tour for the release of his new album “HIKARIGASASHIKOMU” out July 24th on Hyperdub.
